Your unexplored treasure- the unconscious mind!

There are times when we realise the limitations of our conscious mind. When we have so much to do, or we cannot see a clear path ahead, we become frustrated because the conscious mind feels overwhelmed. But we all have a more powerful faculty called ‘the unconscious mind.’

Your unconscious mind is far more powerful and knowledgeable than your conscious mind. It has all your beliefs stored in. Basically, it is the blueprint for the way you behave and the perceive the world.

However, you cannot reason with the unconscious mind, or use it in a way that you use your conscious mind to solve problems. The unconscious mind works in its own mysterious ways. So, how can we actually use it?

How does it work?

“What you think, you become.
What you feel, you attract.
What you imagine, you create.”

― Buddha

The best way is to simply ask. It sounds so obvious or too simple to reach something that has such a power. But from my own experience, it works. If you have read the book the secret, there are three steps described to achieve whatever you want.

  • Ask – Ask the universe, or your unconscious mind for something that you really want. Be as specific as you can.
  • Believe – Believe strongly that you will have what you want. Let there be no doubt about it.
  • Receive – Feel and behave everyday as if you already have what you want. “Fake it until you make it.”

This is how the prayers work. When we pray, we are asking. We associate one of the strongest positive feelings: faith. The unconscious mind picks up these feelings and works on it. It provides us with the opportunities that might seem almost like a miracle. I have experienced that!

When something is ‘suggested’ repeatedly to the unconscious mind with strong feelings, it accepts it to be true and makes it a part of our reality. That is how hypnosis works. A hypnotist would implant a suggestion deep inside the unconscious mind, which will become a new blueprint for you to behave in the world.

Remember the movie ‘Inception; ? It is the same idea, but only they take it to the dream, where there is no interference of the conscious mind.

Why does it work?

” Everything must complete the circle, and come back to its source. “

– Swami vivekananda

According to the theory of swami Vivekananda, the universe moves in circle. Everything which begins and moves must come back to its source. Similarly, when we send the positive waves of thoughts and feelings, it completes a circle and must come back to us. That is why when we send out the waves of the good feelings of having received what we want, it comes back to us in the material form. Read this article for some deeper understanding.

It is the law of attraction.

I have been through such times where I would not be able to figure out the answers consciously. And I have found the solutions by asking, and having complete faith that it will be given to me at a proper time. And it comes in the ways you would never have expected!

Trust your unconscious mind.

You don’t need to learn the psychology of the unconscious mind in order to use it. Experience is the best teacher. Have faith and fill your mind with highest intensity of gratitude and love. And also beware of your negative emotions. Because whether good or not, whatever is sent out will all come back to you and complete the circle!

  1. The unconscious mind can be retrained, but it takes time and effort. If it has learned to accept abuse and to return it, then it is necessary to retrain it as to what is acceptable and to reject that which is not acceptable. It takes time, but it can happen. In Matthew 17:20, Jesus said, ” . . . if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

    1. yes, true. It takes time and effort to train the unconscious mind. And all of us who understand its powers should put that time and effort to use it. Because it is the key to the next step in our growth. Thank you for relating very nice and relevant words by Jesus! You too have a blessed Day😊
